MARCH ANNOUNCEMENTS
Benchmark testing for English-Language Arts and Math will take place Monday, March 2nd to Friday, March 6th from 8:20 to 10:50 a.m. Please get plenty of sleep and be on time! Parents, please try to avoid scheduling any appointments during this time.
Friday, March 6th is the LAST DAY for AR TESTING for the 2ND TRIMESTER!!!!
Maturation movie will be shown on Thursday, March 5th! Please send back the note if your child MAY NOT watch it!
March 18th is Sizzler Night! Come support Rivera Elementary and earn a homework pass.
Lunch with Someone Special will be held the last week of March.
Science School balances are due. Most students owe $84. We are working on scheduling one more fundraiser. Information will be out ASAP.
DRESS REMINDERS: Students are to wear a POLO SHIRT DAILY!!!!! Students may wear a COLLEGE TSHIRT on Wednesdays in lieu of a polo shirt and a RED SHIRT on Fridays in lieu of a polo shirt. POLO SHIRTS must be worn if the student is not in a college tshirt or red shirt!
3rd Trimester Policies:
If a student earns RED for STAR Worker TWO WEEKS in a row starting on March 2nd, he/she will be assigned Saturday School. If a student earns RED four times during the trimester, he/she will lose the privilege to participate in the Pool Party. More than four REDs will result in the loss of other 5th grade events and/or Promotion.
Finally, students should be reading for 45 minutes per day. The class average is only 18 minutes! Please encourage your child to read, read, read!
