Parent Workshop

Rivera Elementary will be hosting a parent workshop on Monday, November 17th, at 6:00pm. The workshop is titled, "Parents Helping Parents." It is never too early to start preparing for college. If you have questions about college and what you need to do to prepare yourself and your child for this process, please come to the workshop. This is a great opportunity for our families. Kindergarten Registration News! Click here for more information

Kindergarten registration is now available online! Registration packets will be accepted in the Rivera Elementary office between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. As required by State law, all children entering kindergarten must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2014. Please follow the steps for registration by clicking on the following link. If you are unable to complete the packet on your own, office staff will be available to help.

We would love for your family to be part of our wonderfully successful reading program. Click on "HOME CONNECT AR system" above to get the link. As you may know, as part of our AR program, Accelerated Reader, your child takes quizzes on the library books they read. You can receive email notices which will inform you of your child's scores each time he or she takes an AR quiz. It's easy, and it connects your home to our school library.
Log onto our HOME CONNECT link using your child's username and password. Look on the top right hand corner of the page and submit your email address. Your child would love for you to see the exciting library books they're reading, and you'll be surprised at how busy they've been. Saturday School is now available!!!

Starting Saturday February 22nd, Rivera Elementary will be offering Saturday School to all students who have missed valuable instructional time. This is great opportunity for our school. The following dates are scheduled: 03/22, 04/05, 04/26, 05/10, 05/17. If you are interested in having your student attend a Saturday School session please speak with your student's teacher.

Morning salutes and the Awesome Eagle announcement

Dear Parents,
Starting this Monday, February 10th, we will begin to recite the flag salute and character counts pledge every morning at 8:15 am. At this time we will also recognize our Awesome Eagle of the day. An Awesome Eagle is a student who displays great character and chooses to do their best on a daily basis. We would like to start to recognize our students who demonstrate great character more often. So, parents please try your best to get your students here by 8:15am.

Food Menu now available online!

In an effort to reduce the cost of copying and to save some trees the district has now made the food menu available online. We will no longer be making copies but, directing parents and students to view the menu online. It's simple! Just click on the heading above titled "Students" then click "Food Menu" and you will be directed right to the menu.

HUGE Box Top news!!

In normal Rivera Elementary stride, our Eagles have collected the highest amount of box tops in our school’s history! All their hard work has generated the largest reimbursement check we have ever received. The total is a whopping $1,650! Our current student council president, Citlali Adame states, "I challenge all Rivera Elementary Eagles to bring in $2,000 next year". As we know, when our Eagles put their minds to something there is no limit how far they will soar.
